Vital Feeds makes broiler feed in Pakistan as a three-stage programme, milled in Arifwala, Punjab: starter crumbs to about day 10, then grower and finisher pellets to market weight. Each stage is formulated for uniform growth and efficient feed conversion.
Vital Feeds broiler feed is a three-stage programme: starter crumbs from day 1 to about day 10, grower pellets to roughly day 24, and finisher pellets to market weight. Each stage is balanced for that phase of growth to support fast, uniform weight gain and efficient feed conversion.
Broiler starter feed is the first ration, given as crumbs from day one until the switch to grower.
Fed from placement, usually to around day 10, in crumb form so day-old chicks can pick it up easily. This is the stage that sets the frame of the bird — skeleton, gut lining and immune development. Feed eaten in the first week is small in quantity but disproportionately important: a chick that starts badly rarely catches up.
Fed through the fastest growth phase, typically day 11 to day 24, in pellet form. Pellets reduce selective feeding and feed waste, and birds spend less energy eating. This is where most of the live weight is built and where FCR is won or lost.
Fed from roughly day 25 to market. The bird is now large and eating a lot, so this stage consumes the biggest share of total feed. Efficiency here has the largest effect on cost per kilogram of meat produced.
Grower and finisher come as broiler feed pellets, which birds pick up cleanly, so less feed is lost in the litter than with mash.
| Stage | Typical age | Physical form | Focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Day 1 – 10 | Crumbs | Frame, gut and immunity |
| Grower | Day 11 – 24 | Pellets | Maximum growth rate |
| Finisher | Day 25 – market | Pellets | Feed efficiency to target weight |
Farmers often compare feeds on the price per bag alone. The more useful number is the cost per kilogram of live weight, because a cheaper bag that worsens FCR ends up being the more expensive feed. When you judge a broiler feed, look for three things:
Under good management, a broiler eats about 3.2 kg of feed by day 35 and about 4.6 kg by day 42, based on Ross 308 breeder objectives. Actual intake depends on breed, season, housing and target weight. Our guide to broiler feed consumption per bird shows how to plan stock for a full flock, and the broiler weight chart gives the targets to check against each week.
Maize and soybean meal are checked at intake before they enter the mill, each stage is formulated for that phase of growth, and every batch of finished broiler feed is batch-coded so a bag can be traced back to its production batch. See how we test.
Exact nutrient specifications for each Vital Feeds product are shared with customers and dealers on request — message us on WhatsApp for the current specification sheet and dealer price.
Broiler feed price in Pakistan moves with the maize and soybean meal markets, so the mill quotes today’s rate on request instead of printing a number that goes out of date. When you compare offers, compare the cost per kilogram of live bird, not the rate per bag. Our guide on what decides poultry feed price shows how.
