How We Mill

From raw grain to trusted feed

Every bag of Vital Feeds passes through the same disciplined journey at our Arifwala plant — sourcing and testing, formulation, automated milling, then batch testing and dispatch.

In short

Every bag of Vital Feeds passes through four stages at our Arifwala mill: raw materials are sourced and lab-tested before entry, rations are formulated for the species and stage, grain is ground, mixed and pelleted on automated plant, then finished feed is batch-coded, tested and dispatched.

The Four Stages

Four stages, every single bag.

Nothing skips a step and nothing is judged by eye alone.

01

🌾 Sourcing & Testing

Maize, soybean meal and other raw materials are inspected and lab-tested before they are allowed into the mill.

02

⚗ Precision Formulation

Protein, energy, vitamins and minerals are balanced for each species and growth stage.

03

⚙ Automated Milling

Modern grinding, mixing and pelleting deliver uniform particle size and consistent nutrition in every bag.

04

📦 Batch Testing & Dispatch

Finished feed is coded, tested and dispatched fresh through our dealer network.

Why the process is the product

Two mills can start from the same formula on paper and produce very different feed. The difference is not the recipe — it is the discipline applied at each step.

1. Sourcing and testing

Maize and soybean meal are natural products and they vary: moisture, protein, and contamination all change from lot to lot. If raw material goes in untested, the formulation becomes a guess. Checking before material enters the mill is the only point at which a bad lot can still be rejected cheaply.

2. Precision formulation

A ration is balanced for a species and a stage — a broiler finisher and a dairy vanda are solving completely different problems. Formulation sets the targets for energy, protein, amino acids, minerals and vitamins that the animal actually needs at that point in its life.

3. Grinding, mixing and pelleting

Grinding controls particle size, which affects digestibility. Mixing decides whether the small inclusions — vitamins, minerals, additives — are evenly spread through every bag or concentrated in a few. Pelleting binds the ration so the animal cannot pick out the parts it prefers, which is what makes feed conversion predictable.

4. Batch coding and dispatch

Finished feed is coded so a bag can be traced back to its production batch. That traceability is what allows a real answer if a customer ever raises a question about a specific delivery.
